From a young age the alluring beauty of Marilyn Monroe was evident, starting a solid foundation to a short lived, but successful Hollywood career. Attracting male attention left, right and centre from some of the most well known names in history, Monroe's uprising in the industry was rapid, catapulting her into a lifestyle of fame, pills and alcohol. Despite her less than perfect home life with miscarriages, failed marriages and erratic psychological behaviour, Marilyn still appeared as the picture perfect "Blonde Bombshell" she was known to be.
Unabashed by her sexuality and curvaceous figure, she set an unexpected precedent for beauty and sex during the 1950's. Raw, beautiful, naive, sexual, controversial and yet somehow still confident and elegant in a world of judgement and scrutiny. For myself, this serves as a constant reminder that not all that glitters is gold and inner peace is the true beauty in life.
